When I traveled to my old university town Cádiz with Oleg, Heidi and Tuomas, I knew before even going that I’d never be able to show them all the places I wanted to. We were only gonna be there for five days, which would perhaps had been enough for just the city of Cádiz, but since none of them had been in Andalusia before, I wanted to take them to some of my other favorite places in the area. Time to prioritize.
After some thinking I narrowed it down to the following three: 1. Sevilla – one of Spain’s biggest cities and the capital of the autonomous community of Andalusia, 2. Ronda – a unique village divided in two by an approx. 100-meter-deep canyon which is, despite its increasing tourism, definitely worth a visit and 3. Grazalema – the real hidden gem of the area, in other words a beautiful picturesque little mountain village that the tourists haven’t found yet.
